Watch: Lalbaughcha Raja volunteers manhandle devotees seeking darshan

It's a story that happens every year. Every Ganesh Chathurthi, a trip to seek blessings of Lalbaughcha Raja in Mumbai turns out to be harrowing affairs for the devotees. From long queues, jostling crowds and instances of manhandling, devotees have to brave it all for a glimpse of the deity.

This year, a video has emerged showing the volunteers at Mumbai's Lalbaughcha Raja's mandal manhandling devotees coming near the 20-ft Ganesh idol to take blessings. No one is spared -- even women and police officers bear the brunt of the ill-treatment.

It is also reported that the son of a political office bearer is said to have assaulted a police officer. Mumbai police has registered a case against him under Section 353 and Section 332.
