Uttar Pradesh government gears up for two-day Investor Summit

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the Uttar Pradeh Government’s Investor’s Summit on Wednesday that will see who’s who from India Inc, as well as several investors from countries such as the Czech Republic, Finland, Thailand and Netherlands who will be in Lucknow for the next two days to explore business opportunities in the state.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the Uttar Pradeh Government’s Investor’s Summit on Wednesday that will see who’s who from India Inc, as well as several investors from countries such as the Czech Republic, Finland, Thailand and Netherlands who will be in Lucknow for the next two days to explore business opportunities in the state.

Apart from PM Modi, President Ram Nath Kovind, Home Minister Rajnath Singh, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, and other top members from the Union cabinet will be present.

Members representing India Inc include Mukesh Ambani, Ratan Tata, Gautam Adani, Kumar Mangalam Birla and Rahul Bajaj

Reports suggest that as many as 900 Memorandum of Understandings (MoUs) have already been signed by different companies and business houses with UP government.

The Prime Minister will spend well over four hours at the Investors’s Summit on Wednesday. The President Ram Nath Kovind will address the valedictory session on Thursday.

For the convenience of the business honchos, the Yogi Adityanath government will release a booklet on land bank created by the state government for making available lands across state for investors in different sectors. The Chief Minister will also hold one-on-one interactions with top industrialist and foreign delegates to request them personally for making investment in Uttar Pradesh.

A 25-km road stretch connecting Lucknow Airport to Indira Gandhi Pratisthan in Gomtinagar, where the two-day events will be held, has been decked up with wall paintings, flower pots and special lighting to showcase Uttar Pradesh. “The concept of ‘New India’ will only complete when UP goes up the development ladder. So the focus is on showcasing UP as a new investor-friendly destination,” said Satish Mahana, the State Industries Minister.

A trilingual Humanoid Robot, specially built for the two-day summit, will welcome all delegates, including the Prime Minister, with a Rose and chanting ‘Atithi Devo Bhava’ in Sanskrit. The Robot is also proficient in speaking in Hindi and English also. The android will also keep an eye on the security of all dignitaries attending the summit.

The estate department has hired as any as 300 luxury cars, incuding 100 Mercedes Benz for ferrying and sight-seeing of top industrialists and CEOs. Besides, about 120 vehicles of the department will also be stationed at the venue and hotels of guests. 

A two-bed make-shift hospital with advanced life support system has been set up at the venue to meet any emergency. Besides this, 51 ambulances will be stationed at the venue and 10 beds have been reserved in each government hospitals to provide best medicare, if required in emergency.

Besides ensuring uninterrupted power supply, automatic generators have been installed at the venue to meet any emergency power cut. Three-layered massive security arrangements have been made from Airport to the venue for VVIPs and delegates. Besides UP Police, the ATS, STF and local intelligence sleuths will provide round the clock security.

To allay fears of poor law and order in Uttar Pradesh, the DGP O.P. Singh will be giving a presentation to business delegates about the improvement in the situation in the 11 months rule of the Yogi government.
