8 coaches of Meerut-Lucknow Rajya Rani Express derailed near Rampur in Uttar Pradesh.

Eight coaches of Meerut-Lucknow Rajya Rani Express derailed near Rampur in Uttar Pradesh on Saturday leaving at least two passengers injured, railway officials said.
The accident happened between Mundapandey and Rampur railway stations, Northern railway spokesperson Neeraj Sharma said.
"The incident happened between Munda Pandey and Rampur stations of the northern railways. At least eight coaches were derailed at 8:05 am. Fortunately, there is no major injury to any passenger. Only one or two persons have suffered minor injuries," said CPRO of Northern Railway, Neeraj Sharma.

Meanwhile, Suresh Prabhu, Minister of Railways said that he has ordered enquiry to look into the cause, and strict action will be taken against any lapse.

Expressing grief, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced Rs 50,000 compensation to those seriously injured in the accident and Rs 25,000 for passengers with minor injuries.
Railways also announced Rs 50,000 as compensation to those injured
The cause of derailment is yet to be ascertained.
