Three Pakistan intruders were arrested at two different places on the Line of Control (LoC) and International Border even as the anti infiltration operation in Uri entered its fourth day. However, the operation at Naugam sector was declared over on Friday.

Elsewhere, tension gripped Kashmir after a youth was killed in fresh firing on protestors in Nadihal area of Baramulla district after Friday namaz.

Two intruders were arrested in Uri when they crossed into the Indian side on Thursday night. The Indian Army took them into custody for sustained interrogation. Sources said Army is not taking any chances and trying to find out whether they had any militant links or not.

Sources said the duo told interrogators that they were chased by irate villagers in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir after they molested a girl. Sources said to escape the wrath of the villagers, they were running without knowing they had strayed into Indian territory. Army personnel took them in custody and interrogated them.

"We have news that two people have been arrested, not by us but the Army. They are being interrogated,"said an officer.

Border Security Force arrested another intruder when he was caught in a barbed wire fence in Pargwal sector of the International Border (IB) in Akhnoor area of Jammu division on Friday morning.

Interrogators said the intruder claimed that he was a ghost-buster and commands a huge following across the IB in Pakistan. However, interrogators will continue to question to intruder.

Even as the three intruders are being questioned by security forces, the anti infiltration operation in Uri entered its fourth day. The operations launched in Naugam sector along the LoC where Havildar Madan Lal died a few days ago, have been wound up.

"The Naugam operation is over and Uri is still on", said colonel Rajesh Kalia, defence spokesman at Srinagar.

Border Security Force opened fire on the LoC when they noticed suspicious movement in Keran sector on Friday. Troops have launched a search and combing operation in the area.

"We must take inspiration from supreme sacrifices and exemplary courage of our brave soldiers who have upheld the sovereignty and integrity of the country," said Kavinder Gupta, J&K assembly speaker.

Since September 20, four infiltration bids have been foiled in Uri and Naugam sectors. A soldier already lost his life while foiling an infiltration bid in Naugam sector.

Official figures reveal around 17 infiltration bids have been foiled by the Army along the LoC this year. Of the 110 terrorists killed in Jammu and Kashmir, 31 have been slain while they were trying to infiltrate into the Indian side from across LoC.

Meanwhile, tension has gripped north Kashmir again after 22-year-old Waseem Ahmad Lone was allegedly killed by security forces in Nadihal Rafiabad of Baramulla district.

"Tall claims of restrain by forces is nothing but a bid to fool people. The innocent killing testifies that their lust for blood has not been suppressed yet,"said Hurriyat hawk Syed Ali Shah Geelani.
