UPSC Results 2016 declared: Check upsc.gov.in for CDS-1 results

The long wait is over. The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) announced the Combined Defence Services-1 (CDS-1) 2016 results. 

The CDS-1 exams are conducted for recruitment into the Indian Military Academy, officers Training Academy, Indian Naval Academy and Indian Air Force Academy. The exams are conducted  by the UPSC twice a year.

Those candidates who appeared the CDS-1 2016 exam can heave a sigh of relief by checking their results on the official website of UPSC. 

How to check your result:

1. Visit the official website: upsc.gov.in

2. Click on Written Result- Combined Defence Services Examination (I) 2016

3. The list of the selected candidates' roll numbers will flash on the screen.

4. You can tally whether your roll number is mentioned or not.

5. Download or take a printout of the result for further reference.

About UPSC CDS-1 Examination:

Thousands of students had appeared in the prestigious civil services examination conducted annually by the UPSC to select officers for Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS) and Indian Police Service (IPS) among others.

The candidates had appeared for the CDS-1 examination on 14th February 2016. 

The Notification for the examination is usually released in the months of October and June, and the examinations are conducted in February and November respectively. Only unmarried graduates are eligible to sit for the exam. Successful candidates are admitted into the respective Academies after an interview conducted by the Services Selection Board (SSB).

Total of 8411 candidates have been qualified for an interview which will be conducted by the Service Selection Board of the Ministry of Defence.
