UP-ATS and Military Intelligence nab ISI agent in Faizabad and his operator in Mumbai

The Uttar Pradesh Anti-Terrorist Squad (UP-ATS) and Military Intelligence (MI), in a joint operation arrested an ISI agent from Faizabad. Later UP-ATS along with their Mumbai counterparts nabbed a hawala operator from Nagpada, who was allegedly funding the agent.

The arrested ISI agent has been identified as Aftaab Ali, while the hawala operator has been identified as Altaf Qureshi. According to an UP-ATS, Ali was trained in Pakistan by the ISI in espionage and was in constant touch with a senior officer at the Pakistan Embassy in Delhi.

 Several maps, photographs of Faizabad Cantonment area and other sensitive places were recovered from his possession. His mobile call and chat details are being sought to ascertain what information he had passed on to his masters in Pakistan.  Meanwhile, it was learnt that Qureshi, a native of Rajkot was staying in a rented accommodation in Nagpada had given money to Altaf.
