There has been an 'unofficial beef ban' in place at the Thrissur Kerala Police Academy for over a year, according to CPM Lok Sabha member MB Rajesh.

Rajesh wrote on his Facebook page this stating that beef has been off the menu for a year now at the police academy. In his post, he says that if one checks the purchase register of the Academy, it would reveal that no beef has been bought.

Rajesh added that this was because of the RSS campaign in the country against eating beef. He further criticised the UDF government in Kerala stating that the Congress was giving into the RSS agenda.

In his post, he also accused the Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala of forcing the police to adhere to an RSS agenda and asked that the ban on beef at the police academy be withdrawn.
