Rahul Gandhi, the Congress' PM candidate and the favourite target of social media platforms, has surfaced again and this time because of an awkward social faux pas that has caused a flurry of ill-will to be sent his way.
This Wednesday, saw Sonia Gandhi host a dinner in honour of current prime minister Manmohan Singh with Congress dignitaries in attendance, yet the Gandhi's 'Golden Boy' was not seen among the guests.
The reason that being stated, is that his responsibilities required him to be elsewhere. This brought down a storm of twitter posts commenting on everything from Gandhi's disrespect for Singh to his disapproval of the menu and attendees. Either way, one might sympathise with the man for attracting the public eye once again, this time for going to bed without his dinner.
Why is anyone surprised? There were no TV cameras inside, so what was the point? #RahulSkipsDinner

#RahulSkipsDinner sums up problems of Congress beautifully. Invisible, half-hearted 'leadership', callousness about optics/communication.
