Sharing gardening tips, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari on Monday said that he waters the plants at his Delhi bungalow, with his own urine that he collects in a 50-litre can.

Speaking at an event in Nagpur on Sunday, Gadkari said that urine is a “free homemade fertiliser” that could help people grow bigger plants.

However, before beginning his anecdote, Gadkari said, "I feel a little awkward but I will tell you about it."

He said, "I have done an experiment. I collected my urine in a 50-litre can. I have a big government bungalow in Delhi, which used to be of Madam Sonia Gandhi. There is one acre farm in that bungalowI called the gardener and asked him to water some plants with this, later these plants grew one-and-a-half times bigger than other plants."

Gadkari also advised the gathering to store the urine in a can and use it on the farm, as it has urea and nitrogen, it will see the result.

However, Gadkari's comment did not go too well on Social media.
