The Telangana issue rocked the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly for the second day today pushing the House into a stalemate as members from either side of the regional divide did not allow the proceedings.

While MLAs from Telangana pressed for immediate tabling of the draft AP Reorganisation Bill-2013 in the House, their counterparts from coastal Andhra and Rayalaseema regions demanded a resolution against the proposed bifurcation of the state.

Speaker Nadendla Manohar rejected the adjournment motions moved by TRS, BJP, CPI and an independent member seeking tabling of the draft Bill and taking up an immediate discussion in the House.

The adjournment motion moved by YSR Congress seeking a resolution against the bifurcation and one moved by TDP demanding to know the state and Central governments' stand on the proposed division were also rejected.

Legislators from the two sides stormed the Speaker's podium, holding placards and raising slogans in support of their respective demands, and disrupted the proceedings.

"This is not appropriate, please co-operate," the Speaker told members and wanted to take up the Question Hour.

But the members remained unrelenting, forcing the Speaker to adjourn the proceedings till 10 am.
