BJP President Amit Shah has written an open letter to former NDA ally and TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu. In the letter, Amit Shah has explained BJP's position and has blamed TDP of quitting NDA due to political considerations.

In the nine-page letter, BJP President has said that TDP's decision was 'unfortunate and unilateral', Shah in his letter claims that BJP always have the best interest of Andhra Pradesh in mind and even when TDP didn't have the numbers in Parliament, saffron party ensured that interests of Telegu people are looked into.  It is a decision; I am afraid, will be construed as being guided wholly and solely by political considerations instead of developmental concerns," the letter read.

Amit Shah stated many examples of Centre's concern for Andhra Pradesh and said, " "This is in direct contrast to the Congress Party, which not only mismanaged the bifurcation but also showed zero sensitivity towards the Telugu people, which is in line with their historic apathy to the Telugu community".

In the letter, Shah says that Naidu is aware that central government has fulfilled its obligation towards people of Andhra Pradesh. Shah also listed out the schemes Centre has started and expanded for benefit of the state. Regarding the Special category status demand, BJP President gave a detailed explanation in the letter. He also described in details the steps Centre has taken for Polavaram project and for setting up the new Capital of the truncated state.  All in all, the letter tries to clarify several points highlighted by TDP which severed ties with BJP and NDA. But the tone of the letter indicates, BJP is willing to get TDP back in NDA fold, but it won't remain mute spectator to TDP's campaign  in Andhra Pradesh.
