Rejecting Opposition leader and DMK working president MK Stalin’s suggestion to the ruling AIADMK to vote against the Modi government, Tamil Nadu Deputy Chief Minister O Panneerselvam (OPS) on Monday said the motion has nothing to do with the constitution of the Cauvery Management Board. “It is better to wait till March 29 when the Supreme Court’s deadline of six weeks for constituting the board ends,” he said.

Panneerselvam said he disagrees with Stalin’s argument that Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu had withdrawn his party’s support to the BJP government and recalled his ministers from the Union Cabinet to uphold the rights of his state. He said the TDP was part of the government at the Centre for the last four-and-a-half years. “The no-confidence motion is purely connected with the issue of Andhra Pradesh and it has nothing to do with the constitution of Cauvery Management Board and the same could not be linked with it,” he argued.
