"Gujarat Chief Minister Anandi Patel held a courtesy meeting with Tata Group Chairman Cyrus Mistry here today," a Gujarat state government press release said.
Mistry also wished Patel on being appointed as Gujarat's first woman chief minister. "Tata Group Chairman Cyrus Mistry extended his wishes to Gujarat CM Anandi Patel who has been appointed as the state's first woman chief minister," the release said.
Later, Patel also tweeted about the visit and said that the relationship between the business group and the state would be taken forward.
"Long-standing relationship the between Tatas and Gujarat will be taken forward. Had a fruitful meeting with Cyrus Mistry," Patel said on micro-blogging website Twitter.
Tata's relations with Gujarat had witnessed momentum when former Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi had invited former Tata Group chairman Ratan Tata to establish the Nano car manufacturing plant in Sanand town, after it failed to initiate its 'people's car' in West Bengal's Singur.
