Tamil Nadu Elections 2016: Vijayakanth says TN opinion polls fake

On Sunday, the DMDK leader campaigned for his alliance partner CPI(M)'s G Bhimrao. He also lashed out at the DMK and AIADMK, accusing them of manipulating opinion polls which have been widely publicised. One opinion poll showed the DMK faction winning while the other showed the AIADMK was ahead in the race.

The Deccan Chronicle reports that Vijayakanth stated that if the pre-poll surveys were valid and accurate, both results should have been the same. "But the results of the two surveys are contradictory. Hence, it is not an opinion poll but an attempt to impose their opinion," he said, adding that people were not fools to believe these polls.

Vijayakanth also took on Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi's statement that he and MK Stalin were like 'double-barrelled guns fighting corruption'. He accused the DMK of being the root cause of corruption in Tamil Nadu and responsible for the 2G scam and Congress for the coal scam.

The Captain said that to end corruption, Tamil Nadu needs a change in government. He added that he was confident that his six-party alliance would win, defeating both the corrupt parties.
