Sources within the court claim that, last week, the alleged victim filed a first information report (FIR) at Dwarka (south) police station, stating that the judge had called her in his chambers, slipped something in her drink and sexually molested her.
Additional district judge (ADJ) P S Malik of a Delhi court and two members his family were rushed to the Hegdewar Hospital in the national capital after an alleged attempt to commit suicide. It is alleged that the judge, his wife and teenaged daughter had an overdose of sleeping pills after a female judicial clerk at Dwarka court accused him of sexual harassment.

Following the FIR, the Delhi High Court revoked the additional judge's powers pending an inquiry into the case. "While the police will investigate the FIR, a parallel inquiry will be conducted by the Delhi High Court under Justice Hima Kohli," a source close to the investigation stated.
However, practising lawyers and those within the judiciary allege that the case is false. Sources who did not wish to be named paint a different picture. They claim that the judge had called the victim to his chambers to reprimand her for misplacing evidence in a case. This admonition was also given formally in the form of a letter, however, dna has been unable to corroborate the existence of this letter so far.
According to a member of the bar association, the judge has been an upright member of the judiciary, and such an allegation against him is unthinkable. This sentiment was echoed across all members practising law. That he is "absolutely upright and straightforward," was echoed by at least two lawyers who have appeared before the ADJ for several matters.
"The ADJ joined the judiciary in 1994 and has worked at Tees Hazari, Karkardooma and now Dwarka. In all these years, not a whisper of any irregular behaviour has come forth with respect to him," stated an office- bearer of the Shahdra Bar Association.
The Malik family attempted to kill themselves at their home in the residential quarters of Karkardooma court complex. The family was admitted to hospital on Thursday night and the judge's condition is stable, say doctors at the hospital.
"We are yet to record Malik's statement," said a senior police officer.
