After accusing Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) President Lalu Prasad Yadav of 'receiving' prime properties in lieu of ministerial berths during the Congress-led UPA regime, senior BJP leader Sushil Kumar Modi on Tuesday made a fresh jab against the veteran leader alleging him of using political clout to get multiple plots of land allotted in his family's name in violation of the MLA Cooperative Society's by-laws.

According to Modi, plot number 208 of the earmarked land was allotted to Lalu for Rs 37,000 in April 1992. "Later, in January 2010, the adjoining plot number 207 was transferred in his name by Badshah Azad for Rs 37,000.

Also, abutting plot number 209 was transferred in Lalu's wife Rabri Devi's name by Abdul Bari Siddiqui for Rs 37,000 in September 2003. Rabri had earlier used her power to get Plot number 151 from late Sudha Srivastava, which she exchanged with Siddiqui," he said, while on Tuesday.

The MLA Cooperative Society deals with allotment of residential plots to MPs, MLAs and MLCs in Bihar. Around 15 acre of land was earmarked for the purpose in Kautilya Nagar in Patna, where land was leased for 30 years to the legislators.

Flashing a copy of the society's by-laws, Modi said, "No person is allowed to hold two plots of land. Apart from that, the cost of one plot was Rs 37,000 in 1992, but it has been transferred to Lalu's family for the same amount even after 18 years. It clearly points that the Lalu got these properties for obliging his partymen with MLC posts."

Modi also said that two more plots along the same strip was owned by Rabri's brother and RJD leader Prem Chand Gupta. "RJD MP and housing society's chairman Jai Prakash Narayan Yadav also got a new plot (223) registered in his name, despite already having the lease of plot number 223," the BJP leader said and accused the RJD of 'occupying' 95 per cent of the society's posts and misusing it.

He demanded that a detailed report on the irregularities of the Cooperative Society, prepared by the Patna District Magistrate and submitted to Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, should be made public and allotment of plot to violators of the by-laws should be cancelled.

Hitting back, Lalu's younger son and deputy CM of Bihar Tejashwi Prasad Yadav, who has been at the receiving end ever since Modi made his string of 'exposes' starting April 4, said, "Modi is trying to hide his own black money and shady deals, because of which he makes so much noise about others." Lalu replied to the tweet saying, "These people (Modi) disown their blood relations to hide their black money."
