After smearing ink on BJP ideologue Sudheendra Kulkarni, there were reports that  Shiv Sena has decided to call off the protest against the book launch of former Pakistani foreign minister Khurshid Mahmud Kasuri.

Speaking to the news agency, Shiv Sena MLA Sunil Shinde said, "Uddhav Thackeray spoke to the Chief minister and have decided that protest against Sudheendra Kulkarni will be called off."

But shortly after that, senior Sena  leader Sanjay Raut said that the protest has been not called off.

Sanjay Raut said that Kasuri has been supporting the Hurriyat Conference, which has supported separatist elements in Kashmir. He said that they appreciate CM's stand that there cannot be any anti-India propaganda. Sena leader said that they have sent to Devendra Fadnavis evidences of former Pak Foreign Minister Khurshid Mahmud Kasuri's acts against India.

Earlier in the day, Sena activists allegedly smeared black ink on the face Kulkarni.  Raut said that it is not an attack, but a non-violent protest.

"This is not ink, but the blood of our martyrs on his face. He should feel ashamed for siding with Pakistan's 'chamchas'. You cannot stop people as they have paint up hatred against Pakistan in their minds," said Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut said.

However, speaking to the news agency, Fadnavis had said, "For all foreigners, diplomats or foreign dignitaries who are allowed on proper Visa in our country it is responsibility of our government to provide them security. Hence Mr.Kasuri and the program will be provided total security."
