Talking to media in Mainpuri, Yadav said that the Samajwadi Party was ready to leave a few seats to form the anti-BJP ‘mahagathbandhan’ with BSP, Congress, RLD and other like-minded to check the return of the BJP government in 2019.
“My party is not worried about the seat-sharing. We are working for the opposition unity of all non-BJP parties even if we have to shelve a few seats to alliance partners. The main aim is to field strong candidates on each seat we contest jointly,” said Yadav.
Yadav made it clear that his main effort is to strengthen the alliance and keeps it going till 2019 Lok Sabha polls and even beyond. “We did not campaign in Kairana and Noorpur, but even then people voted for the alliance. This shows that they have trust in the new alliance to defeat the communal forces,” he pointed out.

Yadav handed the keys of 4-Vikramaditya Marg to the department only late Friday night after vacating the bungalow on June 2. Officials who visited the palatial bungalow on Saturday morning were shocked to see it in complete disarray.
They opened the gates of the bungalow on Saturday morning for the media and TV channels to visit the house and see for themselves the mess Yadav and his family left behind.
A senior officer of the department alleged that imported Turkish tiles from the swimming pool, Italian marble from floors, ACs, imported ceiling and garden lights, bathroom fittings, etc were missing from the bungalow.
