Soon, light and sound show at Sambhar Lake

Tourists planning to visit the Sambhar lake in Rajasthan can soon add the light and sound show to their must-see checklist.

A light and sound show is being planned and prepared for tourists visiting the Sambhar lake.

A novel addition to the already popular lake, the show will educate tourists about the history of Rajasthan.

"Sambhar lake has an important place in the history of the state. We will display this history and through the light and sound show," said a senior official of Rajasthan Tourism Development Corporation (RTDC) while speaking to DNA.

The funds allocated to the Sambhar circuit under the Swadesh Darshan Scheme of the Central government are being utilised for this project.

"The show will be held at the courtyard of Sambhar Salt complex. The tender process is yet to be cleared," informed an official.

In the past, however, environmentalists raised protested to protect the flamingos in that ecosystem.

"Flamingos are an attraction in Sambhar. They are deep inside in the lake, and won't get disturbed with this," said former IFS officer and noted environmentalist Sunayan Sharma.
