Sonia Gandhi to address rallies in Meham and Sirsa on Saturday

Congress president Sonia Gandhi will address public rallies at Meham and Sirsa in Haryana on Saturday to appeal to the voters to vote for the Congress. Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda  will also be present on the occasion, according to a press note issued by the Congress party headquarter in Chandigarh on Friday.

The party spokesman said Sonia Gandhi will reach Meham (Anaz mandi) by private helicopter on Saturday at 11 am where she will address the public to appeal to them to vote for the Congress candidate.  Bhupinder Singh Hooda will also address the people. Sonia Gandhi will then fly to Sirsa where she will address the gathering at Shahid Bhagat Singh stadium with Hooda. 

Hooda will remind the people of the development works done by the Congress in the state and appeal to them to give another chance to the party. Sonia Gandhi is coming to Haryana for the first time since the Lok Sabha elections. After the rally she will return to Delhi. Chief Minister Hooda will  address public rallies at Shyahwada village at 5 pm and at Adarsh nagar, Hisar at 6 pm.

Congress candidates are pitted against the BJP and the INLD candidates. Many central leaders of the BJP have already toured the region. Congress Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda and his MP son Deepender Singh Hooda are holding the fort. It is expected that Sonia Gandhi’s campaign will boost the Congress prospects in the state.
