As the BJP and Congress engage in mudslinging over the alleged snooping on Rahul Gandhi, former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Omar Abdullah on Monday poked fun at the Delhi Police and described his personal appearance so that the men in uniform do not have to waste their time and effort.
Omar, who voiced his opinions on the matter on twitter, offered his description to the Delhi Police.
Dear Delhi Police, just to save your chaps time & effort I'm 179 cms, medium build, fair complexion, grey eyes & greying hair. U R welcome.

The National Conference leader also criticized both the BJP and Congress over the entire sequence of events post the controversy, charging the ruling party of not offering a credible explanation, while accusing the grand old party of scoring a 'self goal'.
If the explanation 4 the "snooping" is correct then 2 questions - why didn't MHA offer this explanation about 500+ profiles immediately 1/2

And 2nd has the Congress managed to score a self goal by trying to make an issue out of something with a patently simple explanation 2/2

Meanwhile, the Congress demanded an explanation from Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on the issue in the Parliament.
The BJP, however, hot back and accused the Congress of raising a non-issue out of 'frustration'. The ruling party at the Centre also said that such procedures were 'routine' and followed even during the previous UPA regime.
Delhi Police Commissioner B.S. Bassi has denied that his force was profiling opposition leaders at the behest of the government, stating that the procedure has been practiced for decades.
The Delhi Police personnel had last week visited Rahul Gandhi's office and sought details about his height and colour of eyes and hair.
