The website of the Symbiosis Institute of Media and Communication (SIMC), Pune, was hacked on Sunday night and a threatening message was posted in Arabic.

The hacker identifies himself as Don-2 and is alleged to be a person or group linked to the dreaded Islamic State (IS) group. A week ago, Don-2 had also hacked a Chinese university's website, posting a similar message.

The hack took place sometime late in the night close to midnight. Though sources said that the college had 'hired an agency' to get to the bottom of the matter, it is unclear what this means. A song, in Arabic, has also been posted to the site.

Using Google Translate, the above text, which is in Arabic, is translated into the following:

The war has only just begun

You morons if you thought that it is limited to the

F-16

F-16
The weapon

Ak-74
Ak-74Ak-74

All this is but a small part of the war plan has

Electronic fight war

Our weapon our minds

State not only to expand in most regions of the world

We did not appreciate their assistance in one stretch Shubra

But at least expand within the electronic land

Sow terror among you #

Scare inform you #

Penetrate your positions #

This mentality #

Lingering expands #

The F-16 is a clear reference to the famous US fighter aircraft used all over the world. The AK-74 is likely a reference to a Russian assault rifle. The message though partly incoherent clearly suggests that the terrorist group intends to expand the war into the electronic media and not merely fight US and Russian forces in Syria and Iraq.

Subsequently, the college had asked students not to open the website from their laptops, the source said.

On January 18, the website of the renowned Tsinghua University in China faced a similar attack. The university’s campus newspaper Qingxin Times reported that hackers left a message in English on the site that read, “Everything is OK in the end. If it’s not OK, then it’s not the end.” Some pages were also replaced with an ISIS photo, along with the words, “Allah is great. I don’t fear death. Sacrifice is my ultimate goal."
