Shootout at Madhyamgram in West Bengal kills 2

Two people were killed and two otheres injured in a shootout at Madhyamgram of North 24 Parganas district of West Bengal on Thursday late evening.

Around 15-16 motorcycle-bound miscreants targeted a Maruti Alto on the Madhyamgram-Sodepur highway and fired as many as 17 rounds of bullet and fled.

The injured driver drove to the Panihati General Hospital, where two of the passengers in the car Babu Sen and Namukai were declared brought dead.

The two injured have been brought to Kolkata and admitted to RG Kar hospital. These two have been undergoing treatment after suffering serious bullet injuries.

According to sources, one of the dead had been accused of murder of Sujit Chakraborty and Partha Das, killed during the recently held civic polls.

Police suspect that the miscreants targeted these people as a part of a revenge plan.

The police is yet to make any arrests and are investigating the case.
