A passenger ship which set sail from Vishakhapatnam for the Andaman Islands had to be anchored mid-sea due to some technical problem, officials said on Wednesday. MV Harshavardhan, carrying 500 passengers, had to make a halt six hours after it left Visakhapatnam port on Tuesday evening as its generators developed some snag, they said.
The port authorities immediately sent a team of technicians to the ship, District Joint Collector J Nivas said. The technical team is attending to the problem and the ship was expected to resume its journey today, he said.
