Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray on Saturday reached Ayodhya amid growing clamour among Hindu outfits for bringing an ordinance to build Ram Temple.

The Sena, which is part of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) but has had strained ties with ally BJP, has demanded the Centre come out with an ordinance and declare a date for the construction of Ram temple in Ayodhya.

Earlier on Thursday, Thackeray collected soil from Shivneri fort in Junnar tehsil of Pune district, where Maratha warrior king Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj was born.  The soil where Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj was born carries with it sentiments of all Hindus and collecting these sentiments will speed up the process of the construction of Ram temple," he said.

In a bid to intensify his party's campaign for the Ram temple in Ayodhya, Thackeray has given a new slogan-- 'Pehle mandir, fir  sarkaar ' (first the temple, then the government).

"The issue of Ram temple is raked up before every election. I will seek an answer as to for how many more elections will the people be fooled with the slogan Mandir wahi banayenge," he said.

during his two day visit, Thackeray would 'seek an answer' as to how many more elections will people be fooled with the slogan.

A special train carrying Shiv Sena workers has already reached to Ayodhya for Thackeray's visit.

The VHP and Shiv Sena will hold separate events in the city.

The Uttar Pradesh Police has deployed a legion of officers to preserve the law and order situation in Ayodhya ahead of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), and the Vishwa Hindu Parishad?s (VHP) ?Hunkar Sabha? event, scheduled for Sunday.

The force includes one ADGP, one DIG, three SSP, ten ASsPs, 21 DSsPs, 160 Inspectors, 700 Constables, 42 Companies of PAC, five companies of the RAF, ATS Commandos and drone cameras.

The 'Hunkar Sabha' event is also being orgainsed in Bengaluru. The Nagpur bench of the Bombay High Court had on Thursday refused to allow the event to be organized in Nagpur.

It is seen as a social gathering to garner support for the construction of the Ram Temple attempting to recreate a 1990-like movement to accelerate the construction, to mount pressure on the Government.

A big push for the construction came on Tuesday, when litigant Mohammad Iqbal Ansari in the Babri Masjid case, being disputed in the country?s apex court, said that he does not have any objection to an ordinance for Ram Temple construction.

On October 29, the Supreme Court had adjourned the title suit till January 2019 to fix the date of hearing in the matter. The top court adjourned the matter which challenged the Allahabad High Court ruling of 2010.

Meanwhile, BJP president Amit Shah on Friday said that construction of the Ram temple in Ayodhya remains BJP’s priority but the Centre will not bring an ordinance, since the matter is in the court.

Speaking to Zee News, Shah said the Supreme Court has to take a decision on it. “We don’t want to do anything in haste. Supreme Court is hearing the matter, it won’t be correct to bring an ordinance,” Shah said
