Shiv Sena and BJP have formed an alliance for the Aurangabad Municipal Corporation elections. State BJP chief Raosaheb Danve and local Sena MP Chandrakant Khaire announced the alliance on Monday evening.
Shiv Sena would contest 64 and BJP 49 wards. Local leaders of both the parties were opposed to the alliance, sources said.
Congress and NCP haven't yet declared whether they would contest the polls in alliance. All India Majlis-e-ittehad ul Muslemin (AIMIM) has released a list of 50 candidates amid disappointment among the leaders.
