Holding national democratic front of Bodoland (NDFB) top brass Songbjit and Bidai responsible for the gruesome killing of at least 70 Adivasis, a rattled Centre has ordered intelligence and security agencies to go after them in hot pursuit.
Top agency sources told dna that teams of security forces have been sent after Songbijit's deputy Bidai whose group of killers understood to have gone in hiding towards Bhutan border and jungles of Arunachal Pradesh after killings tea tribe Adivasis indiscriminately.
"They have tested the waters in the wrong way. This is unacceptable. We are going to get them soon," said sources adding that chances of any talks whatsoever are over now.
The decision came out in a meeting of top security brass taken by the union home ministry Rajnath Singh before boarding plane for Assam visit. NSA Ajit Doval, and top officials of IB, RAW, Military intelligence and paramilitary forces were part of the meeting.
Sources said the Bodo militants chose soft targets to kill women and children to retaliate against recent crackdown by the security forces on NDFB (S faction).
A shaken security establishment is also trying to locate and get Songbijit, the top leader of NDFB rebel faction earlier led by Ranjan Daimary.

Sources said the intelligence agencies had tipped about a pending attack on Tuesday itself but the alert reached a wee bit late to the security forces that allowed the Bodo militants to flee after orchestrating 3 hours of worst carnage that included killing as young as 3 months old children.
But what immediately bothers the Centre and the Assam state government is the spiral of violence that is threatening to engulf vast tracts of northern Assam and Bodoland as the sizable population of Adivasis and their proscribed organisation All Adivasi National Liberation Army (AANLA) is expected to launch a backlash.
Backlash by Adivasis erupted on Wednesday in Sonitpur district and areas Kokrajhar where Adivasi tea tribes have a sizable population.
The Centre has rushed 50 companies as an immediate measure to contain the spiral of violence but it may prove too little given with several hamlets dotting the remote areas of Assam.
The Centre fears that backlash by Adivasi can lead to further violence in Bodoland leading to fresh spurt in violence.
