The Supreme Court has refused to hear the matter filed by Students Islamic Organisation of India to add Urdu as a language to NEET exam.

The CBSE had announced that the exam can be conducted in  2017 in ten regional languages with the exception of Urdu.

The student organisation had filed a petition in the top court against the board, the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on February 17 for not including Urdu as one of the languages in NEET exam this year, said a NewsNation report.

The body also said that it found the decision to not include the language in the upcoming exam unjustified and biased against those pupils who finish their higher secondary and senior secondary education in the Urdu medium.
