The minister in news, Kapil Mishra, was once a blue-eyed boy of Arvind Kejriwal. So much so that till a few days ago, the Delhi chief minister used to praise him for the good work he did as a minister in his cabinet.

Mishra wrote on Twitter on Sunday evening that he will reach the office of the Anti Corruption Branch at 11 am and record his statement as a witness. Mishra has claimed that he saw minister Satyendar Jain handing over Rs 2 crore to Kejriwal.

"I got to know from some party leaders that Kejriwal has decided to make Satyendar Jain resign by Wednesday," he said.

The 36-year-old was hailed by the Delhi chief minister for taking cudgels against former CM Sheila Dikshit in the water tanker scam.

The scam also led to the AAP government constituting a fact-finding committee to probe the same.

He enjoyed popularity in his constituency and is considered one of the most suave and vocal leaders of Aam Aadmi Party.

Mishra became a trusted aide of Kejriwal due to his sharp grip on local issues and understanding of Delhi politics.

Mishra has inherited politics from his mother Annapurna Mishra, who is a BJP leader. Annapurna represents Sonia Vihar ward in East Delhi and was the first woman mayor of East Delhi Municipal Corporation in 2012.

Before joining politics, he had worked with renowned international organisations such as Greenpeace and Amnesty International, honing the activist in him, who spearheaded a massive campaign against corruption during Commonwealth Games.

The man of the moment launched his scathing attack on Kejriwal, accusing him of corruption after he was shown the door by the party following its digraceful defeat in the recently held MCD elections. He had held an important portfolio as water and tourism minister, a fact that resonated in his Twitter bio till Sunday evening, "Proud member of AAP cabinet". Not the one to take brickbats thrown at him by AAP for poor performance lying low, he retorted at the press conference,"Initially I was being praised for my work. I had reported against Sheila Diskhit and the irregularities there in. If there was an issue with my performance, why did they not raise the matter ever before?"

For someone who was always applauded for being one of the most approachable and popular leaders in his constituency, the party had blamed him of inflated water bills and scarcity of water in many areas, just ahead of MCD polls. He was called a failure for not being able to manage the water problem at its root.
