RSS leader Suresh Soni suffers minor heart attack, currently stable

 The health of senior RSS leader Suresh Soni, who suffered a minor heart attack, has improved and if needed he may be moved to Delhi for better treatment, Union Minister Harsh Vardhan said on Sunday after visiting him at a hospital in Kanpur. 

Soni, the Joint General Secretary of RSS, had suffered a minor heart attack on Friday and was rushed to Ganesh Shankar Vidyarthi Medical College Hospital. Doctors on Sunday said Soni's condition was stable and he was in intensive care unit of the cardiology department

According to the team of doctors monitoring Soni: "Soni had a minor heart attack and was therefore kept under observation for 72 hours in the ICU. He is better now." Vardhan reached the hospital this evening to meet the ailing RSS leader and was apprised about Soni's condition by the team of doctors, headed by Dr C S Verma.

After the meeting with doctors, the Union minister told reporters that Soni's health had improving under the supervision of cardiology experts and if needed he would be taken to New Delhi for further treatment. Besides Vardhan, Kanpur MP and veteran BJP leader Murli Manohar Joshi, UP BJP deputy chief Swatantra Dev Singh and local party leaders visited Soni in the hospital.

Soni was here to attend the valedictory function of 20-day training camp of the volunteers, when he complained of chest pain after having dinner on Friday night, an RSS leader said on condition of anonymity.
