Four unidentified persons today looted around Rs 27,000 cash from six passengers while they were travelling in general compartment of the Lucknow-Yeshwantpur Express, police said.

Four unidentified persons offered beverages to the six passengers, who were travelling in the train, after which they fell unconscious, said Ramesh Kumar, Kazipet Circle Inspector of Police.

After this, the four unidentified persons looted the cash and fled from the spot, he said.

Their co-passengers informed the Railway Police, when the train came to the nearby Kazipet Station. When the train arrived at the station, Railway Police reached the spot and took the six passengers to a nearby hospital, added Kumar.

A probe was underway, the officer said.
