In fresh trouble for former IPL commissioner Lalit Modi, Rashtrapati Bhavan has filed a formal complaint with Delhi Police against him.

Delhi Police Commissioner BS Bassi confirmed that the President house has filed a complaint against Modi and a copy of a June 23 tweet put out by Modi which referred to Paul in a derogatory manner is also attached.

Lalit Modi had accused President's secretary Omita Paul of being close to the "biggest hawala operator Vivek Nagpal".

Modi had tweeted, "The biggest hawala operator is Vivek Nagpal also best known as Omita Paul's bagman. Lots of data on him. Does anyone care."

Speaking to Sunday Express, Bassi said, "We have received such a complaint a few days ago and it is presently under scrutiny. We are examining the options in the case and suitable action will be taken shortly."

The complaint lodged by Rashtrapati Bhavan comes at a time when the Enforcement Department is expected to issue summons to Modi to join its probe.

Taking to micro-blogging site, Modi has been attacking many famous personalities, which has also landed several leaders into trouble.

Earlier, Modi has alleged that  Bharatiya Janata Party leader Varun Gandhi had offered to get Sonia to help him in lieu of 60 million dollars.

Taking to micro-blogging site, in a series of tweets, Lalit Modi said, "Mr. Varun Gandhi came to see me at my house a few years ago and said he can settle everything in @INCIndia with with his aunt. He wanted me to meet her sister from Italy. I heard him next I heard from our common friend who introduced us that auntie wants 60 million dollars. Told them whaaaat are u nuts go HKG a kite. Can he deny that. I hope he does."

 Whereas, dropping a bombshell, saying he met Priyanka Gandhi and Robert Vadra in London last year.

In a series of tweets, Modi had said, "Happy to meet the Gandhi Family in London. I had run into Robert and Priyanka separately in a restaurant - they were with Timmy Sarna. He has my no. They can call me. Will tell them what I feel about them exactly. Will mince no words. Will make no deal. But tell them witch hunt will now make them realise I was."
