Rajasthan government gets cracking on old & new plans

Chief minister Vasundhara RaJe has sought detailed presentation of the schemes that were initiated in the previous BJP regime and could not be completed by 2008. Information has been sought on the total expenditure on these schemes and those initiated between 2008 to 2013 in congress-led government in the state.

On the direction of chief minister, the officiating chief secretary CS Rajan has written a letter to all additional chief secretaries, principal secretaries, and secretaries asking for a detail presentation on these aspects by 19th December. 

Officials have also been directed to get the complete information on the schemes, which started in BJP regime but were stopped after 2008 when Congress government took over. 

Highly placed sources in the secretariat informed that entire exercise is being carried out for a comparison of the schemes and come out with better initiatives for the people. The Lok Sabha elections are approaching and government many announce its vision document for the first 100 days, like in its previous tenure.

Before the Lok Sabha elections, the state government is likely to work on war-footing to respect the public mandate and prove their decision was right.

Sources informed that officials may soon be given time-bound schedule for implementation of public welfare programmes. Ensuring basic necessities and flaws in consumer services will be the main objective for the state government, for which the information has been sought.

A day before CS had written to all officials to get detailed information of various schemes running in their respective departments, availability of resources, and detail planning of the implementation of the programmes.
