On a three-day visit to Amethi, Congress President Rahul Gandhi launched yet another attack on the Centre and Yogi Adityanath government in UP in particular, saying the BJP has so far been successful in grabbing power by dividing people on the basis of caste and religious lines, adding it will not succeed this time.

Gandhi took a dig at the Yogi Aditayanath government alleging that he too was neglecting the poor and farmers in Uttar Pradesh. He also raised the issue of his government being denied permission to inaugurate a road in his parliamentary constituency. "They are taking the credit for the work done by me and the UPA government," he said.

Earlier, Gandhi went to a school in Amethi and interacted with students. When a girl student asked him why laws were not being implemented, he replied: "You ask this question to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. We are not in power. You may ask this to us when we come into power again."

When students asked him about problems and lack of basic amenities in Amethi, he blamed the Yogi government. "Amethi is governed by Yogi. I am MP from Amethi and my job is to enact laws in Lok Sabha. The responsibility to govern Uttar Pradesh is on Yogi, but he is busy doing something else," Gandhi said.

Meanwhile, Sonia Gandhi arrived on a two-day visit to her parliamentary constituency Rae Bareli, where she inaugurated the Indian Medical Association (IMA) Bhawan, constructed at a cost of Rs 10 lakh from her MPLAD fund. Sonia inaugurated the IMA Bhawan from the guest house only.

On Sonia's initiative, a blood bank will also be set-up at the IMA Bhawan shortly.

She will launch other projects, including a Passport Sewa Kendra at the Main Post office on Wednesday. She will also participate in a meeting with district government officials along with Rahul and hold a Janata Darbar at the Guest House. After meeting party workers and leaders, she will leave for Delhi at 2.30 pm on Wednesday.
