Several protestors on Friday staged a demonstration against the killing of 20 alleged red sanders smugglers in Chittoor by Andhra Pradesh police at Gandhi statue on Friday and demanded a CBI probe into the matter. A group of socio-political organisations led by 'Rihai Manch' demanded the CBI probe under supervision of a sitting judge of the Supreme Court in all cases.

Spokesman of Rihai Manch Sahnawaj Alam alleged that since Narendra Modi government has come to power an free hand had been given to security and intelligence agencies. Alam alleged that while at some places labourers are being "labelled" smugglers and killed, at other places Muslim youths were being killed in custody.

Union Home Minister and Lucknow MP Rajnath Singh was prompting security agencies for fake encounters in the name of national security, he further alleged.

He claimed that Lucknow police, which had failed to work out the February ATM loot case, was trying to create an atmosphere of terror by connecting the robbery case with SIMI.
