Puducherry Chief Minister V Narayanasamy today expressed concern over the political uncertainty in Tamil Nadu saying due to it, "growth will be affected" in the union territory.

"The unrest in the ruling AIADMK in Tamil Nadu will affect the economy of that state as well as Puducherry in terms of growth and investments," he told reporters here.

Talking about the ban on liquor shops on national highways, the Congress leader said he had sought Union Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari's intervention in converting some of the national highways into state highways.

"The ban cannot be implemented at once. We need some time and we have approached the Union Transport Minister regarding this," he added.

Narayanasamy claimed that the ban on politicians using red beacons on their official vehicles would not affect him as he had never used it.

"I use my own vehicle for travelling and do not opt for such luxuries," he said.

Denying the speculation regarding a tiff between him and Puducherry Lt Governor Kiran Bedi, Narayanasamy said he did not have any such issue with the former IPS officer.

Narayanasamy was here to campaign for the Congress candidates in the upcoming MCD polls to woo the south Indian voters settled in the national capital.
