Prime Minister Narendra Modi will undertake a three-nation visit from March 10 to 14.

Seychelles will be the first leg of the three-nation tour, and the Prime Minister's visit there is aimed at restoring India's commitment to political development in that country, the Ministry of External Affairs confirmed on Monday. "Prime Minister Narendra Modi's will arrive in Seychelles tomorrow night and will stay there till post-lunch till March 11. His visit will be the first Prime Ministerial visit to Seychelles since 1981. It is a very strong restoration to our commitment of political development in Seychelles. We have been helping Seychelles to bolster its need for maritime security," said Secretary (West) in the MEA, Navtej Sarna.

"After the talks, there would be a couple of events for the Prime Minister to attend. One is the civic reception which the Prime Minister will be addressing in Mahe. He would also be operationally handing over and commissioning the operationalisation of the coastal radar surveillance system, which is being set up with Indian assistance in Seychelles," he said.

"He will have a lunch hosted in Seychelles on March 11 after which he would depart. It is a relatively short, but impact-leaving visit," Sarna added.
