PM Narendra Modi to begin his three-nation trip today

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be leaving for his three-nation trip to Seychelles, Mauritius and Sri Lanka on Tuesday evening.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be leaving for his three-nation trip to Seychelles, Mauritius and Sri Lanka on Tuesday evening.

Prime Minister Modi will begin his five-day trip by visiting Seychelles where he will be given a civic reception in Mahe. The Prime Minister will hand over the Coastal Radar Surveillance System which was set up with India's help.
PM Modi will also hold bilateral talks with Seychelles President James Alexis Michel on Wednesday in a bid to strengthen the maritime security and bilateral cooperation.

He will then proceed to Mauritius for a two-day visit. During his stay, he will hold extensive talks with his Mauritian counterpart Sir Anerood Jugnauth to further enhance bilateral relations. Prime Minister Modi will also be the Chief Guest at the Mauritius's 42nd National Day celebrations. He is further scheduled to address the National Assembly of the country.

After Mauritius, Prime Minister Modi will be in Sri Lanka on Friday, where he will hold meetings with Sri Lankan President Maithripala Sirisena, Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe and other senior leaders across the political spectrum. During the visit, several MoUs and agreements are expected to be signed between the two nations in different fields.

Prime Minister Modi will visit Mahabodhi society and the Mahabodhi Tree in Anuradhapura. The Prime Minister is also likely to visit the former war zone and the Tamil heartland of Jaffna where he will hand over houses to the internally displaced people in Jaffna, which were built by the Indian cooperation.
