Realising that Delhi poll outcome may have a cascading effect on Bihar and then crucial UP elections next year, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is understood to have rang up the NDA allies, seeking their active support for the BJP to sail through in the national capital. Sources close to the union minister Ram Vilas Paswan, president of Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) said their leader got a call from the PM asking them to muster support for the BJP. They further stated that similar calls for help have gone to other NDA partners as well.

Except conceding to the Akali Dal to woo a large chunk of Sikh votes, the BJP had kept other NDA partners at an arm's length as far Delhi elections were concerned, depending on its own machinery. Even two Akali members are contesting on the BJP symbol. Paswan's party has now sent an SoS to its all legislators and leaders in Bihar to arrive Delhi by Sunday to chip in the campaign from Monday to woo especially Dalit and Poorvanchal voters for the BJP, which over past many days has raised the pitch of campaign, by vesting all its might in the elections. "In the meeting held under Paswan today, many leaders had expressed reservations as we had also asked mandate for our candidates in Delhi. But they (BJP) ignored us," said an LJP office bearer, but adding it was decided to help the BJP to sail through, as elections have potential to affect the outcome in Bihar, which is going to polls later this year. Even as the AAP is giving tough fight to the BJP, all political parties are watching the contest closely. JD (U) leader Nitish Kumar had offered to canvass for the AAP chief ministerial candidate Arvind Kejriwal,

Even Congress is realising that victory of the AAP will affect their fortunes too in other states. "The Congress cadres know it well that they can take on the BJP in longer run but it will be tough for them to challenge Kejriwal. Not only that Kejriwal win in Delhi will cut into their vote bank, but will have affect in other states too, because their vote base is same,"" said psephologist Abhay Kumar.

He further says, that the difference for the BJP in Delhi from the other states which went to polls after the Lok sabha elections is that all these states had discredited opposition or had high level of anti-incumbency. Bhupinder Singh Hooda,Hemant Soren, Omar Abdullah & Prithviraj Chavan were afflicted by anti-incumbency. But in Delhi the credibility of Kejriwal is more or less intact so the BJP & Modi have tough task ahead during Delhi assembly poll.
