Newly appointed chief of Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), nation's cultural diplomacy arm has professed his love and admiration to PM Narendra Modi in an interview to Indian Express.

According to the former loyalist to Indira Gandhi with RSS leanings, PM Modi is an 'avatar' of god, and superior to Karl Marx and Mahatma Gandhi.

Speaking to the IE, he said, that Modi is an incarnation of god to the poor. "Unke liye, woh bhagwan ke avtaar hain (for the poor, he is an incarnation of God)… Look at his Jan Dhan scheme. Karl Marx wrote so many volumes on poverty, but what was his real contribution?"

In his opinion, Modi 'supercedes' Gandhi when it came to the practical approach. He also said that Modi kept a fast for Navratri for nine days and that was admirable.

Chandra had earlier said to ABP News that Modi will bring back India's cultural reach what was prevalent during the times of Emperor Ashoka.

A scholar in Tibetan identity has over 596 publications, Chandra is a Padma Bhushan awardee and has with fluent in 16 languages.
