In what can be called a unique gift on the occasion of International Yoga Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated US’ first and biggest Nature Cure facility YO1 via video conference on Thursday.

Calling it 'Bharat's gift to the US,' Essel Group chairman and Rajya Sabha member Subhash Chandra announced on Twitter that the facility will offer holistic wellness and allow people to connect with the nature in the lines of Ayurveda.

‘Yoga has become a mass movement in the past three years,’ PM Modi said during the launch event. ‘Yoga is not just about some asanas, it's a philosophy, a way of life. I wish you (Essel Group) all the very best for the venture,’ the Prime Minister said via videoconferencing.

‘Yoga has no religion and can become the binding force for the world,’ the Prime Minister added. It should be noted that the nature cure centre will generate 500 direct and 1,500 indirect jobs.

A dream project of Subhash Chandra, the centre is built on the Catskill Mountain in Southeastern New York. The facility will provide natural care therapies based on the ancient Indian disciplines of Yoga and Ayurveda combined with Naturopathy and Acupuncture. The physiotherapy courses are designed to cleanse, detoxify and refresh the visitors.

For this unique effort, New York State Assembly honoured Dr Chandra on the eve of International Day of Yoga.

The United Nations General Assembly in 2014 adopted a resolution declared June 21 as the International Day of Yoga, co-sponsored by 175 countries. Prime Minister Narendra Modi had proposed the idea of taking India's 5000-year-old Yoga tradition to every corner of the world.

YO1 Luxury Nature Cure is spread across 1400-acres of lush green campus with the wellness centre taking up 200 acres of space. The facility will provide employment to more than 1500 people and has 131 guest rooms and suites.

YO1 is derived from 'Youvan' meaning youth in Sanskrit. The wellness centre aims to address health issues, improve mobility, increase longevity, promote weight loss, and bring back the youthfulness, reports Zee News.
