Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Amit Shah were among those wishing Union Minister Piyush Goyal on his birthday on Wednesday. 

Goyal, the Minister of Railways and Coal, turned 54 years today. 

"Best wishes to Shri @PiyushGoyal on his birthday. He has made a mark as a wonderful administrator, who has been spearheading key departments in the Government. He is playing a pivotal role in transforming India’s rail infrastructure. May he lead a long and healthy life," Prime Minister Modi said in a tweet on Wednesday morning. 

Amit Shah tweeted: Warm birthday greetings to Shri @PiyushGoyal ji. His dedication and pursuit to transform India in various responsibilities he has held in Modi government is laudable. May God bless him with good health and long life.

Goyal's cabinet colleague Smriti Irani also extended the greeting to the minister. "Greetings to @PiyushGoyal on his birthday. May his dynamism and proactive approach continue to benefit the Nation. Wishing him good health, long life and continued success," she wrote on Twitter. 

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan also wished Goyal. 

"Warm birthday greetings to @piyushgoyal Ji. Your leadership has given @RailMinIndia a new direction. Your dexterous administrative skill has been largely instrumental in the progress of #NewIndia. Wishing you have a long and healthy life ahead," Chouhan tweeted. 

"Warm birthday wishes to my dear friend and cabinet colleague Sh @PiyushGoyal ji. May he be blessed with a long & healthy life in the service of our nation," Goyal's cabinet colleague Ananth Kumar said on Twitter. 

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee was among the first ones to wish Goyal. 

"Wishing @PiyushGoyal a very happy birthday," she said in a tweet.
