Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath on Thursday took a dig at the Opposition’s anti-development agenda, and claimed that ever since he assumed the top office in the state, criminals have given up illegal activities and have started selling vegetables on handcarts.
As per a Times of India report, Adityanath alleged that the Samajwadi Party and the Bahujan Samaj Party that were in power earlier had ‘destroyed the law and order’ situation in the state.
In a bid to connect with the youth, the CM said that his government will create more employment opportunities for them. “Our government is going to recruit 1.62 lakh police constables and 1.37 lakh teachers. Besides, the honorarium given to contractual teachers and anaganwadi workers will be increased,” he said.
Recently, Adityanath hit out at predecessor Akhilesh Yadav, saying that his hands were stained with the blood of victims of the Muzaffarnagar riots.
His reference was to the Hindu-Muslim riots in adjoining Muzaffarnagar district in 2013, when several Muslim families fled their homes.
In 2016, there was communal tension in Shamli district's Kairana block with allegations that the threatened Hindus were leaving their homes.
Attacking the SP government, which was in power then, Adityanath said, During the previous government, there were no jobs for the youngsters and only a specific community got jobs. We have adopted the practice of taking people from every caste and religion along with us, he said.
Adityanath, along with PM Narendra Modi and BJP president Amit Shah was an integral factor in the BJP emerging as the single largest party in the state.
vIn the final phase of Karnataka elections, much like what he did in Gujarat, BJP leaders like Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath took up the election campaigning.
Adityanath, who began his Karnataka tour from May 3 and aggressively campaigned in Coastal Karnataka, Uttar Kannada, Belgaum, Bidar and Hubli-Dharwad regions holding as many as 33 rallies, road shows etc to turn the table on the BJP side. The party won majority of seats where Yogi campaigned.
