The Congress has found support in the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and the Trinamool Congress (TMC) after 25 of their Lok Sabha MPs were suspended by Speaker Sumitra Mahajan.

AAP and TMC are among the nine opposition parties- NCP, CPI(M), CPI, RSP, Muslim League, RJD, JD(U) who have decided to boycott Lok Sabha for five days along with the suspended members.

AAP has decided to boycott the Lok Sabha for five days to show solidarity with suspended Congress members. According to NDTV, AAP had recently attended a floor coordination meeting with the Congress.

AAP Punjab MLA Bhagwant Mann who is among the four Lok Sabha MPs to protest against the Speaker's decision, was also present in the meeting. He said to NDTV, "The opposition needs to be united, for that we are with the Congress."

TMC's Kalyan Banerjee said, "We’re also supporting Congress and boycotting decision of Speaker. Sudip Banerjee (Bandyopadhyay) also made a request."

Trinamool Congress leader Sudip Bandyopadhyay said that the issue is between the BJP and the Congress but both are "adamant" on their demands. He said that his party had to discuss a number of demands related to West Bengal but it is not happening due to disruptions. His colleague Derek 'O'Brien said that "past has now become present" and Congress was doing the same thing now what was earlier done by BJP. He is learnt to have said that members are keen to discuss issues and not individuals, noting that this kind of 'tu tu main main' (sparring) will not do.

Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan had on Monday suspended 25 Congress MPs for five days from the Lok Sabha. Party President Sonia Gandhi said that it was a 'black day for India and democracy'.

The Speaker 'named' (identifying for action) the 25 Congress members who were carrying placards and shouting slogans in the Well while pressing for resignation of External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj and Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje over the Lalit Modi row as well as Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan over the Vyapam scam. While taking the tough action under Rule 374(A), she said the members were being suspended for "persistently, wilfully obstructing the House".

Meanwhile, the Lok Sabha has been adjourned till 11 am Tuesday, following frequent disruption by the opposition parties.
