Protests by TRS members against the "delay" in setting up of separate High Court in Telangana and Congress members raising the Moga incident disrupted proceedings in the Lok Sabha on Tuesday, causing several adjournments.
House witnessed more heat when Amarinder Singh (Cong) raised the issue of the death of a 13-year-old girl in Moga after she was allegedly thrown off a moving bus after being molested by the staff of the bus belonging to a company owned by the ruling Badal family of Punjab.
Amidst the din, Congress leader Amarinder Singh raised the Moga issue, saying "how does a state function? Your economy is in shambles. Your law and order is in a shambles," and added that several incidents had taken place over the recent which reflected worsening law and order in Punjab.
The former Punjab Chief Minister had given a notice for adjournment motion over the incident. Singh, who met the parents of the girl in Moga yesterday, said that she was pushed off from a moving bus owned by the Orbit company owned by the ruling Badal family.
He had yesterday demanded imposition of President's Rule in Punjab and alleged that the law and order machinery in the state has "total collapsed".
Communist leader Sitaram Yechury raised the issue in Rajya Sabha and demanded the resignation of an Akali Dal minister in Punjab. Yechury said," A minister called the incident as the act of God. I think such a minister should not remain in office."
