Pakistan plays spoilsport on holy Navratri festivities in border areas

Pakistan Rangers played spoilsport on the holy festival of Navratra when it resorted to heavy shelling on civilian areas along the International Border in the Arnia sector injuring three persons and leaving a trail of destruction. 

Police said Kishori Lal, 40, and his wife Pummi Devi, 35, suffered minor injuries in cross-border shelling in Khattar village on Wednesday night. Both of them were evacuated to Ramgarh Hospital. Gurdev Singh, 20, suffered splinter injuries in cross-border firing at Kol Khurd in Arnia sector. He was shifted to Govt Medical College,  Jammu for treatment.

“Around six cattle were killed and 30 others injured in the cross-border shelling. More than dozen houses suffered damage. We also launched rescue operation to evacuate the Gujjar (nomads) from Jora village after they were caught in the shelling,” said Surinder Chaudhary, sub-divisional police officer, RS Pora.

Never-ending

There had been continuous firing and shelling by Pakistani troops along IB and LoC between Sept 13 and Sept 18.
A BSF jawan and a civilian were killed in these incidents.
