Pakistan’s complicity in the mutilation of Indian soldier’s body and killing of two others on the Line of Control (LoC) in Machhil sector last week, was exposed on Monday when Indian army recovered surgical gauze exclusively used by Pakistani defence forces and other items from the site of incident. “Refer Machhil operation of November 22 where body of one soldier was mutilated. Search leads to recoveries that indicate Pakistan complicity,” tweeted Northern Command of the Indian army.

The cache includes Gauze Surgical– Loose Wove with a marking of Pakistan Defence Forces.  Other recoveries include Made in Pakistan Sooper Biscuit packs and empty bottles. Indian army also recovered Night Vision Sight which is a US government property. Shock, anger and outrage gripped the security and political establishment after the suspected Border Action Team (BAT) of Pakistan badly mutilated the body of an Indian Army soldier and killed two others when they ambushed counter-infiltration patrol on the Line of Control (LoC) at Machhil sector of Kupwara district on Tuesday last.

The slain soldiers were identified as Gunner Manoj Kumar Kushwa of Uttar Pradesh, Riffleman Prabhu Singh of Rajasthan and Riffleman Shashank K Singh of Uttar Pradesh, all belonging to 57 Rashtriya Riffles unit. It was for the second time in less than a month that the body of an Indian soldier was badly mutilated on the LoC in the Machhil sector. On October 28, militants badly mutilated the body of Rifleman Mandeep Singh of Sikh regiment. One militant was killed then while another fled back to Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (PoK).

The BAT, on January 8, 2013, had breached the LoC in Mendhar sector and beheaded Lance Naik Hemraj and badly mutilated the body of Lance Naik Sudhakar Singh of 13 Rajputana Rifles. Head of Lance Naik Hemraj is still missing.
