RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat has snubbed controversial BJP MP Sakshi Maharaj on his comment that Hindu women should have four children, according to an Indian Express report. "Our mothers are not factories, giving birth to a child is an individual choice,” he said while addressing delegates in Kanpur.
Though Bhagwat did not mention the Unnao MP in the speech, he said that he cannot stop or take responsibility for someone else's statements. “How can I stop somebody from speaking? But one should think carefully before saying such things,” Bhagwat was quoted in the IE report.
Bhagwat also asked his delegates to ensure 50% percent representation to women in the organisation and 'adequate representation' as people form every section must get a chance to grow, says the report.
The report added that Bhagwat brushed away any speculations of RSS holding the BJP and PM Narendra Modi in poor light following the Delhi polls debacle. Bhagwat reportedly said that the PM had the will power and the RSS must trust their swayamsevaks.
He addressed several concerns the delegates raised.

He reportedly responded to a delegate's demand that the BJP government must declare the birth anniversary of RSS founder KB Hedgewar and the Hindu new year as national days, saying that "Government works in its own way. Even if I were to become prime minister, I would work the same way."
He also asked delegates from the Bharatiya Kisan Sangh and Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh to continue fighting for the demands of people they represent without caring about the party at the Centre, the report added.
