Government has initiated fresh round of back channel talks with the ex-servicemen community, who have been protesting against the delay in implementation of 'One Rank One Pension' (OROP) scheme.
"The representatives from the Prime Minister's Office on Wednesday met us to discuss the OROP issue. We hope that some announcement would be made by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his Independence Day speech," an office-bearers of a body of ex-servicemen community said.
He, however, added that no solution was found during the talks held on Wednesday. The ex-servicemen have been protesting for over 50 days at Jantar Mantar here seeking early implementation of the OROP scheme.
