Only BJP wave in Delhi, will win majority: PM Narendra Modi

Hitting out at the media and various poll surveys that indicate that AAP will be a strong winner, the PM said, "News-traders are airing poll surveys with a lot of faith and conviction. Even when I contested from Varanasi in Lok Sabha, they (surveys) said Modi will lose by three lakh votes. I don't know who are they (pollsters)."

In his last poll pitch before Delhi votes on Saturday, prime minister Narendra Modi sought to dismiss the notion of a Aam Aadmi Party wave during the election campaign saying, "I can clearly see that the wind is blowing in the favour of Bharatiya Janata Party, we will win with a majority."

Like in his previous poll rallies, the PM tried to connect emotionally on the issue of Delhi's image as a capital city and promised that in BJP's rein, "The city will be taken to new heights of development." PM Modi was addressing his last poll rally at south Delhi's Ambedkar Nagar, a constituency that elected AAP's Ashok Kumar in the 2013 elections. Kumar, though, is fighting this election on a BJP ticket.

Midway during his speech, the PM also lashed angrily at the media, as was often seen during his Lok Sabha poll campaign too.

The PM also retorted with anger on Tuesday's controversy about BJP's vision document calling natives of north-eastern states as 'immigrants' and once again targeted the media and opposition. "People are spreading lies about North East. The party has admitted their mistake and the opposition should not politicise the issue."

For the second time during his poll campaign, Modi also mocked AAP over its funding controversy. Alluding to AAP's claims over the source of their funding, Modi said, his friend inquired if he too donated to AAP and when he checked, he was surprised to see, "Even Mahatma Gandhi and Obama (US President Barack Obama) have donated money."

The PM ended his poll rally making an emotional appeal to voters to make history by coming out to vote in massive numbers.

Meanwhile, BJP's chief ministerial candidate promised to be 'active' CM, who would move around in slum pockets to solve the grassroots issues. She also exhorted the people to protest bribery, "I will not allow bribery and dishonesty to flourish under me and we will provide you a helpline to report such cases," Bedi said.
